My Exhilarating Close Animal Encounters

Hello fellow animal lovers! Welcome to my world of wild wonders and animal adventures. I'm absolutely stoked to share my passion for animals and the incredible encounters I've had along the way.

Imagine getting up close and personal with a great white shark, feeling the thrill of feeding adorable lion cubs, or chilling out with a laid-back sloth. Each encounter has been unique and unforgettable experience!

And just so you know, I'm all about treating these amazing creatures with the utmost care and respect. No animals were harmed during these epic meet-ups!

So, grab your safari hat and let's embark on this wild adventure together!

1. Shark Cage Diving in Cape Town, South Africa

I've always always been fascinated with sharks. So, when the opportunity came up to go shark cage diving, I literally jumped at it. Thanks to movies like 47 Meters Down and The Shallows, I was both excited and nervous to come face-to-face with them in the wild.

The moment I jumped into the water, the adrenaline kicked in as the guides lured the sharks closer with bait. As I gripped the bars of the cage tightly, I couldn't help but feel like I was one wrong move away from becoming shark bait myself. And let's just say the cold, choppy water didn't help. Before I knew it, I was leaning over the side of the boat, joining a few other queasy souls. Not exactly how I imagined it!

Would I do it again? You bet! Despite the seasickness, there's something about being that close to such sharks that's just too hard to resist.

2. Komodo Dragon at Komodo Island, Indonesia

Before setting off on this trip, I did some serious research on how to handle encounters with Komodo Dragons. One tip that really stuck with me was to run in zigzag if one decided to chase after me. Apparently, their long bodies make it tough for them to keep up with sudden turns. So, there I was, strolling around an island packed with Komodo dragons, with nothing but a guide armed with a "Y" shaped stick to keep us safe. It was a nerve-wracking and oddly thrilling, that's for sure!

3. Lion cubs in South Africa

I had an amazing time feeding and strolling with two lion cubs. These adorable little ones were rescued from the wild by a dedicated organization, giving them a shot at life before setting them free again. While I was a bit nervous at first, those cubs sure were playful! It turned out to be an unforgettable experience filled with joy and excitement.

4. Kangaroos in Australia

When I first visited Australia, I was blown away by my first-ever encounter with kangaroos. I mean, I'd heard about them, but seeing them in the flesh was a whole other experience!

And, did you know that there are actually more kangaroos hopping around Down Under than there are people?

5. Whale Shark in Oslob, Philippines

Oslob is a popular tourist destination to get a glimpse of whale sharks. This creatures are very big and appears to be very gentle. These creatures are massive, but surprisingly gentle. You can get seriously up close and personal with them, and let me tell you, when they open their mouths, it's like you could fit a whole person in there!

Swimming with them has been a blast, no doubt about it. But I'm not sure I'd do it again as I ended up with some gnarly skin rashes afterward. Not exactly the souvenir I was hoping for.

6. Crocodile in Sri Lanka

I was holding onto this crocodile, trying to keep my cool, but let's just say my grip was a bit awkward. And then, out of nowhere, the croc starts freaking out! Now, here's where things took a turn: in the chaos, the croc made a sudden move and leaped out of my hands. Talk about a wild moment! But our guide was quick to react and swooped in to save the day before the croc took a plunge into the water.

But here's the kicker: my friend sitting next to me got a little unexpected surprise in the form of crocodile poop. Yeah, not exactly what she signed up for!

So, to the crocodile and my buddy, if you're reading this, rest assured, the croc came out of it without a scratch. And to my friend, sorry about the mess!

Lesson learned: maybe leave the crocodile holding to the professionals next time.

7. Tiger in Phuket, Thailand

Check out this snap from my visit to Tiger Kingdom in Thailand! It's one of those places where you can cozy up to a tiger of your choosing, ranging from smallest to giant size. I'm a huge animal lover, but big cats? They still give me the jitters. That's why I opted for a medium-sized tiger. Gotta ease into it, you know? So, here I am, grinning like a kid on Christmas morning in this pic. But truth be told, every time that tiger took a glance at me, my heart skipped a beat. Talk about nerve-wracking!

But despite the nerves, I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. It was one for the books, that's for sure!

8. Sloth in Costa Rica

I'm wandering through this animal sanctuary in Costa Rica, surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of nature all around. And guess what? Every now and then, if you're lucky, you can spot a sloth lounging in the trees. These creatures are beyond adorable. Look at those soulful eyes and the most laid-back vibe I've ever seen. It's like they've got zero cares in the world, just chilling and taking it easy.

So, there I am, soaking in the scene, and I can't help but feel a surge of warm fuzzies. I mean, who wouldn't? It's moments like these that remind you just how amazing nature can be.

9. Alpacas in Potosí, Bolivia

I've always been fascinated by alpacas! I mean, come on, they're just so darn cute, right? I got to see these fluffy bundles of joy in the wild, just doing their thing and roaming around. Getting up close and personal with these magnificent creatures was an experience I'll never forget. It's moments like these that remind me of the beauty and wonder that our world has to offer.

10. Nurse Shark in Isla Mujeres, Cancun, Mexico

I wasn't exactly thrilled about the idea of posing with a nurse shark just for touristy photos. But sometimes you gotta seize the moment, right? So, I decided to go for it, mostly for the experience. And I made sure to handle the shark with utmost care.

I've always had this fascination with sharks. They're such incredible creatures and I truly believe they belong out there in the wild, cruising around in their natural habitat.

If you've made it all the way here, I just wanna give you a big shoutout and a huge thank you for sticking around. Seriously, it means a lot!

I'm really hoping that my animal adventures can spark a bit of excitement in you, just like they do for me. There's something about connecting with nature and all its incredible creatures that just gets my heart pumping. So, here's to hoping that my stories can do the same for you!
